| Description: | As a young studio working in a city still warming up to design, we set out to create a piece that would challenge expectations—both ours and the community’s. We began with a simple premise: to design an object that could serve as a contemporary souvenir of the city, rooted in its everyday rhythm. We revisited the classic tear-off wall calendar, once a staple in homes across the region, and gave it a thoughtful revival. Reimagined as a desk calendar, it felt more attuned to today’s spaces. This shift in format allowed for better accessibility, required no mounting, and encouraged more day-to-day interaction. To add a playful dimension, we embedded a flipbook animation across its pages, offering joy for those who fidget, pause, or need a moment of distraction. Conscious of the environmental impact, we sourced recycled paper—light on our conscience, and lighter on the planet. The branding was kept intentionally minimal, allowing the calendar to speak for itself and form a more personal connection with its users. Our first edition of 1,000 copies sold out. Even months later, requests for restocks continue, and the calendar lives on—shared, photographed, and celebrated one page at a time. |
